Thai Rath reported that the Met Office were predicting increasingly hot weather in the north and upper central regions of Thailand over the next 24 hours.

For Bangkok and further south there remained a strong chance of rain and thunderstorms.

A rainstorm was hitting northern Bangkok at 9.45am as cloudy weather blanketed the city.

Completely contradicting the previous forecasts :passifier:

My telephone weather app always says hot for the next 7 days, and then a fall in temperatures, a week later it says the same,  I may as well delete it.

if Thailand was a real country they would invest in a state of the art satellite and nation wide Doppler radar and a huge investment in weather predicting super computers. They could share the cost with neighboring countries.

BUT NO.
Why? We know when rainy season is and the 2 week cold snap is.. The rest of time is just hot

IUmh - yesterday it was heavy rains and wind for the rest of the week!?

I had the same thought initially, but then in reading the article....

It appears to still be saying rain and storms for BKK and south, but HOT weather in the North and North Central.

So, different forecasts for different regions.

Because of 4 seasons our weather can be wild.
Thailand is just hot. Maybe when they reach 1st world they can drop a few million on a satellite

I always avoid turning on the A/C in the bedroom when sleeping.

If it's high tropical heat at night, the A/C in the hall perfectly does the job and moderately cools down the bedroom.

Not very healthy to have an A/C on full blast in the bedroom.

What geniuses these Thai weather forecasters are. It's amazing and incredible that they can foresee that as we enter the (almost always) hottest period of the year, the temperature is going to rise!

Einstein - you should bow out in shame: you are nothing compared to Thai scientists and meteorologists!

BUT NO.

Most of the Provinces have a dedicated weather radar located in the major city. For example:

http://weather.tmd.go.th/hhn.php

Located in Hua Hin city on Phetchakasem Road southbound, on the left a couple of hundred metres past Soi 51 junction.

The data is collated to produce a national weather picture.

yes thank you i am aware of these sites. many don't work and seem to be to very low resolution and updates are at a slow rate.

Data need to be collected and analyzed in the fast changing tropical conditions in order to forecast more exactly.
