Traffic Police Make Plans for Songkran Crackdown

Featured Replies

The best plan would be to be seen on the roads , doing random checks, patrolling with high visibility rather than being sat under an awning updating their Facebook and whatsap.

I can see no change, watch out for another resounding failure in preventing preventable deaths and injuries.

Just another annual statement of lies for controlling activities during the festival.  It is all so predictable, knowing their plans will be a dismal failure.  Why bother with all this posturing other than to try and look like the BIB are really doing something useful.

I know the plan: sit down in shady place and watch their "smartphone"

Same old, same old!! Tents, TVs and mobile phones are a guaranteed formula for success.

Ok, this is how we are going to divide the proceeds.....................

  • Firstly  a team of MUFTI vehicles with effective CAMERAS and staff proficient in their use could make millions this Songkran
  •
  • Reduce speeding and MAKE  them pay or confiscate the vehicle

Huge sign 500 meters past the MUfti cars

" G O T C H A ! "

May turn of a few brains?

Well, that's Chang Mai.  Where else will it actually happen.  My guess is come the day, it will be same as always.

Okay chaps, uniforms looking good, phones charged, plenty of pens and penalty notices, make sure you have your cushions as often the seats are hard .

Off you go now and first prize to the one who can manage to sit down for the whole of Songkran .

Apart from collecting tea money, how often is the average Thai policeman actually on active duty?

Line is the default chat app in Thailand... for some reasons WhatsApp doesn't fly here. Maybe because WhatsApp doesn't have those cute slapstick stickers that Thais love... lol

Anyway, you're right, I don't think anything's going to change, it's just the usual drivel before any major holiday or festive seasons. Literally a waste of air, these goons.
