Direct flight to Taiwan

Does anybody here know whether there is a direct flight to Taiwan from Chiang Mai?

I am talking about the budget type.

Only via Bangkok, KL or Singapore. China Airlines, Transasia, V Air, Tiger Taiwan have all been and gone. Eva is the next one to try but it wont start until July and probably wont be cheap if you are just flying to Taipei.

I looked into Eva Air from CNX to TPE after July 1 and it looks around $400 Round trip for economy.

Currently good offers with acceptable travel times are from Cathay Pacific/Cathay Dragon with one stop.

Chiang Mai - Hongkong - Taipei.

Less than 400 USD.

I am not sure whether it's cheaper to fly via Hong Kong then to Taipei.

 

After all, there are tons of people from Hong Kong who fly to Taiwan everyday.

As written flights Chiang Mai to Taipei via Hong Kong are below 400 USD.

Don Mueang to Taipei is under 300 USD.

Up to you whether you want to go via Don Mueang or to Hong Kong.
