There is a large blank section to fill out on the Extension form (T - 7?) where they question how long an extension you require and the reason why you need it. I'd say if you detailed your reason as needing some extra days to take you up to the day of your flight booking, they'll probably give them to you. Why don't you head down to your nearest Immigration Office and ask them.
