Just experienced the same.  I'd been using Tops online for a year and a half with no problems.   Now they want you to log on with the One Card account.  Well, I find the One Card value quite minimal, so I never logged on to my account.   I got a Filipino gal on the phone from One Card and gotta say, she did finally get everything all squared away.   Tops has zero delivery charge for like orders of 1500b or more.   (I think it was 900b in the past).     Once I was finally in, order history was gone, but other than that, seemed to work out OK.    

 

I'm surprised more people don't comment on Gourmet Market.   I like the one at EmQuartier, and it's close to Villa Soi 33.   Also use the Central Food Hall.  And gotta agree with the folks commenting it is worth the price.   I eat mostly Thai, but also Mexican, American, Italian, etc.  I cannot get what i want at Tesco, Makro, Big C, etc.   I might blink at the prices for food/drink at the nicer restaurants, but buying food in the store.....not a problem.

I think you need to distinguish between deliveries from Central Markets vs. deliveries from Tops Markets -- even though they are owned by the same (Central) company.

 

Central Markets have long had a delivery policy that they'll only do home delivery if you order 1500b or more, and in that case, the delivery is free. AFAIK, Central won't home deliver any grocery orders smaller than 1500b, period.

 

Tops, on the other hand, has long had a policy of free home delivery if you order at least 888b (though they sometimes run promotions for free delivery or reduce the 888b level to something lower). But normally, if you order something less than the 888b amount, Tops will still deliver, but will add a delivery charge. In the past, I believe, that charge was 60 baht for smaller value orders.

 

As far as I can tell, those two policies -- both for Central and Tops -- haven't changed despite the recent re-do of the Tops Online website. Central, btw, doesn't have an online ordering platform for groceries. AFAIK, with Central, you have to either call in or buy in the store and then arrange for home delivery there.

On a short Bangkok trip I walked by the new location.

Busy working in the late evening.

In a complete gridlock like yesterday the shuttle service would be quite useless .

Even the motorcycles had a hard time to  get anywhere.

Yup, my post was specifically about their Grand Opening event for the store though, freebies, wine tasting etc.  Not whether the store is open / stocked or not.

Sure.  Was just stressing it was about the Grand Opening with freebies and wine tasting etc. which I missed off the original post and which some folks might not be aware of.  

 

The K Village one easier for me, great bread at the onsite St Etoille too (oddly they don't have the same bread at the T21 outlet), just wish Villa was more consistent with stock.  Like anywhere else, one day have, next time pfffft.  Been scouring for the Young's Kipper Fillets ever since I bought what was seemingly the last box from K Village.  Never seen them since, seem to be scaling back on Young's products too.  So there's another one to kiss goodbye I guess.

Now that the new Suk Soi 11 branch of Villa Market is open, I wanted to update on the mention above of the Soi 11 branch having its own free delivery service within a 3 KM radius, as per the banner posted above.

 

My contact at Villa advised the following regarding the Soi 11 branch's delivery service (so it won't save you an in-person trip to the store, but might make the trip home a bit easier, especially for those without cars):

 

"It's a Shop & Drop service - once you've finished your shopping in our store, you can let our staff know that you'd like your items delivered and they will take care of that for you."

BTW, re the Villa Suk Soi 33 online ordering and delivery service, I was successful the past few days in getting them to add to their online site several items I regularly buy at Villa stores that for some reason were missing from their online ordering site.

 

My Villa contact advised that if other folks have any similar requests, they can email them to the Villa Soi 33 online ordering staff at customerservice at villamarket dot com.

Have been to the new Villa on Soi 11 several times now as it is literally 5 minutes walk from where I reside. It probably doesn't have quite the range of products that some of the other branches. However, it is pretty good. I'd still prefer to get my seafood,fruit/veg from a local fresh market.
