Major Accident/Incident Chalong

Featured Replies

Came out of Chalong Tesco just now, something major has happened  just south of there on CFW.

At least 6 ambulances and fire engines on the scene. Couldn't see past these vehicles to get an idea of what had happened.

Traffic banking up a long way to the south already.

Nothing so far in the English language news outlets.

It'll be in the Phuket News a week next Monday probably.

Anything new to report?

I know on the hill between Kata and Chalong a water truck collided with ?? Also many motorbikes sliding there due to the rain, it was really slippery.

This was the accident I saw today. Only one involved, but nasty. Needed 6 ambulances apparently/

6 ambulances seems a bit much for 1 person, 2 ok, 6 they are chasing money

There was also a fire truck. They may have been trying to work out how to un-impale her.

Since she ended up in Vachira anyway chasing money seems unlikely.

Doesn't it depends which ambulance got there first? 6 ambulances going to the same scene, definitely chasing money or very disorganised

Sometimes yes, but Vachira is the one that doesn't pay.

Phuket News reports that the hospital had to amputate the leg.

The pick-up driver is a Farang and is facing reckless driving charge. He is promising to pay all victims costs ...

Another one this morning, though not sure exactly where:

Why doesn't tell anyone all those mobile phone guys filming to bugger off.

Here's another video of the same crash.   You can see a car turning right in front of the truck, which then swerves to avoid and ends up with a head-on collision with the small tour bus:
