The payment was legal. A campaign expense is defined as a payment that would only have occurred because of the election. Trump can show that he's been making these sorts of payments before. That day in court will be entertaining as hell - can you imagine him bringing a list of hookers he's paid off to court. So - as this is a normal payment for him - it can't be proven to be a campaign expense. Similar things - buying yourself a suit to look good on the campaign is also NOT a campaign expense. But the most important thing people are missing here. It's a misdemeanor anyway. So whilst those with Trump Derangement Syndrome are hoping this will be enough to oust him, it won't. They ignored a whole bunch of other payments that takes the number way above that. So finding some that equal $130k isn't a shock. What is a shock is that some people are naive enough to think it's some sort of smoking gun.
