Black tap water in Thailand :(

Video: Water as black as ink coming out of the taps in Khon Kaen

A resident went on Facebook to complain about the water coming out of their taps - it was as black as ink and certainly couldn't be used for consumption.

Even if you wanted a shower you would have to wait until the filthy sediment settled.

And the problem had been going on for ages in the community in Samsoong district.

Some 100 houses were affected.

Soon the power of a Sanook investigation coupled with social media had the Ban Soon water authorities on the case saying that after a thorough cleaning the problem should be fixed.

the water is filthy in Hua Hin.

one of my five girlfriends says there is a huge discussion on facebook about it.

Perhaps they have stuck oil. I'd want some discreet confirmation before I told the world.

And everybody is trying to say that thai people have a short fuse. Now it´s confirmed. It takes years before they react.

The one that react too quick, without thinking, have already blown the fuse ages ago.

And look....Water coming out of a tap....UNDER PRESSURE !

I didn't know they were pumping water from Pattaya that far north !

It is probably manganese dioxide. It accumulates in the distribution system and when dislodged, causes this. It should be removed at the water treatment plant, but they often do not have the knowledge or equipment.

Looking at it's colour, one could almost fill up the bike's tank with this water.
