LTR visa tax exemption on foreign income: don't count on it!
What accountant then? I initially entrusted my tax filing to a well-know tax agency which I don't want to mention here. They're well-known and advertise here often. The result was appalling. They wanted to file my revenue under "salary" although I only earn dividends and don't work in TH, they applied the wrong age allowance (as though I was already over 65 which I wasn't), they filled in fantasy amounts I couldn't think where they got them from. They came up with 7K baht tax due although I'm entitled to 25k tax refund. A pig's breakfast. My case was straightforward: only Thai dividends on which I'd pay a 10% withholding tax from which I was entitled a substantial refund give the highish amount those withholding taxes amounted to. The rest was tax-free as per LTR. Now if you mean the TRD has kick-back agreements with the "accountants/agencies" much like IMO has kick-back agreements with visa agencies, you may be right. -

Is my power of attorney needed, in Thai court, dead father?
Hi My European father moved to Thailand and died there. A soliicitorfrom Europe has applied to be administratör of the estate for dead father in court, but I never signed a power of attorney for this solicitor to represent me I understand my power of attorney must have been forged , by this solicitor as read that the court will not register the case at all if the children , all of them , have not signed power of attorney . I am only asking about this, and the fact the court will not givee the case nr, as they pretend to not speak English when I call, spoke English with the same guy . I am seeking help, but aware most legal ppl in Thailand and my country want a large down payment first, and then disappear with nothing done... Thankfull for any info confirming my POA is needed as child in court. -

Is Trump the most corrupt US president in history?
No, that was your man Biden. Funny how back then you were only concerned with covering up his corruption, yet now you pretend to be concerned about corruption? Defies all logic. -

The Worlds Biggest Clown
Doesn't matter how you're rooting. He's a TOTAL DISASTER and the people that are going to suffer the most from his idiocy are Americans themselves. I particulary pity younger Americans today whether they're in his stupid cult or not. Because of the permanent damage Trump has already done their future is not promising at all. -

Xi Jinping is not satisfied with winning the trade war
And there's also this: America Inc. Slashes Spending as Tariff Uncertainty Swirls CEOs are pausing travel, delaying construction projects and slowing hiring in response to tariffs and cloudy economic forecasts; a bid to ‘control the controllables’ The unpredictability of President Trump’s stop-start trade offensive is paralyzing companies on just about every front except one—taking an ax to costs. The chemical company Dow is delaying construction of a new plant. Boston Scientific, the medical-device maker, is speeding up efforts to cut discretionary spending including travel. https://archive.ph/sgRQd -

Tipping
I live rural. I went to a new restaurant that just opened last night. The food was good, and you couldn't get half your drink down before the waitress would come and top it up. When I was leaving, after paying my bill, I gave the waitress a tip. She stopped, looked confused, and asked, "Is this for me or the restaurant?" I told her it was for her, she looked very surprised. I also have had places that were run only by the owner and his family tell me that a tip was not necessary. Although there isn't a real tipping custom, I have heard that people who take every baht coin in change are called "ขี้เหนียว".
