portable overhead projector

Featured Replies

This might be the wrong place to post this question, if so, please feel free to move it.

I'm looking for a portable overhead projector, one which I can connect to my laptop preferably USB wireless.

I've looked at the Acer Proector K135i (priced at 18,900, discounted to 17,900). 600 ANSI, 1280x80 resolution, contrast 10,000:1. Any feedback on this device? Any suggestions for something smaller and lighter but similar quality?

Thanks in advance.

You want an overhead projector ( prolly not), a visualizer or a projector?

You'll have to forgive my ignorance, but I don't have a clue what a visualizer is....

Basically, I want to project images/pages from textbooks onto the whiteboard so students and I can do certain exercises together as a group. I'd also like to project movies from my laptop onto the wall at home but that's not so important, just a "nice to have thing".

They don't work like  (old school) overhead projectors in the sense you can lay a book on it and project the image.

You photograph the textbook pages or download images.

Projectors are pretty sub par for showing movies at home, still better off with a tv.

It's a travel projector and I think you may be sacrificing quality for portability. You need to choose a priority.

Thanks. My mistake, I didn't mention that the material has already been scanned/downloaded/typed up in powerpoint. So it's to be used with the laptop. The acer I mentioned earlier uses a wireless usb. At least that's one cable less.

Acer Proector K135i - 600 ANSI, 1280x80 resolution, contrast 10,000:1. Is that decent quality?

The quality is there but don't rely on it for sound. Only complaint I saw about this machine.

I tried watching movies at home with the acer I had and it was ok but not fantastic.

Projectors are an absolute wonderful tool in the classroom. You will not regret this purchase.

Thank you! Much appreciate the input.
