Large blue bus (R2-P) that goes to Promenada

Dose anyone know what time the first bus goes to Promenada in the morning. I picked it up at 2:50 pm on Thursday from Suriwong Bookstoreย  but my g/f was not with me and I could not ask the driver when the 1st bus leaves in the morning. I understand there is an app you can download on your phone which probably has the times there but since I am one of those rare dinosaurs who does not have a smart phone I can not access the times. Thus the posting of this inquiry.

Sorry can't answer your specific question but just wondered if you were aware of the 'complimentary' bus that runs from the tourist hotels in CM town to the Promenada on a regular basis during opening hours.ย  Next time you are at the mall the information desk can provide a timetable.

Unlike Central Airport Plaza and Central Festival, Promenada no longer has a complementary shuttle bus running from the tourist hotels and central city.ย  It never was much use for people going to Immigration since it didn't start until late in the morning.

ย

As for the new big blue city buses, the online app doesn't show a route going out to Promenada.ย  Central Festival, yes, but not Promenada.ย  The OP implies he took a bus to Prom. and that would be interesting.ย  The online app doesn't show any routes going to Prom and in looking at the little buses moving around just now none appear to be heading out that way.ย  Incidentally, the schedule on the app is very wrong.ย  It implies they run just from 8 am to 6 pm yet I see them out as late as 10 pm.

The Blue bus (no number) does go to Prom - I have used it but it takes well ย over an hour from the airport.ย  The timetables onboard the bus do give up to date times.ย  I believe they start from Airport terminal 6.30AM to 10PM every day.

Will check later today with more accurate info.

The large blue bus ( R2-P) does in fact go to Promenada but, as I saidย previously, I am trying to find out when theyย  start going to Promenada in the morning. Yes, you might have to wait initially for the bus to depart the airport but my experience in riding some of these large blue buses is that they are very accommodative. I was at Central Festival and had ridden my bicycle there to see a movie. When the movie was over I went outside to my bike and it was raining. It was around 3:30- 4 pm and I went over to speak to the driver and assistant of the large blue bus who was parked there and they basically said no problem you can bring your bus onboard and I was very happy and somewhat surprised. During the course of the run the assistant came over and asked if he could take a pic of me and my bicycle to send to the home office and I said sure. I was eventually let out in the night bazaar area. The blue buses are great and hopefully more folks will familiarize themselves with the runs and take advantage of the great fare (20 baht). If you become familiar with the runs you will see there are many places along the runs where the buses stop and it is very convenient toย  get on and off.

Unless they started again recently, the Promenada shuttle was cancelled over a year ago.

Was good for doing 90 day report.

I stand corrected.ย  It was some time ago when I used it so could well have finished which is a shame as it was handy service now and then.

That shuttle bus were meant for tourists staying at hotels to do shopping in Promenada.

ย

Unfortunately, many people misused it to go to immigration.
