Police investigate attempted ATM burglary

PATTAYA:--Police are pursuing a man who tried to rob an automated teller machine in Pattaya.

Officers were called to an NCR Co. ATM outside Underwater World on Sukhumvit Road June 28 where they examined a battered, but still sound, ATM.

NCR employee Katawut Laopa said he was sent to repair the machine and arrived to find someone had tried to break in.

ATMs are notoriously difficult to penetrate and the thief gave up without getting any money. It was the second time thieves had tried to break into the machine without success.

Police collected security camera footage and fingerprints in hopes of arresting the would-be burglar.
