I could counter all your claims with FACTS, but that would make this post pretty extensive, and take the thread off the rails.

Just look up Enron - Tyco - Worldcom - Superclub - Lernout & Hauspie  and see the similarities between all these so successful companies.

You can also try to read up on the analyst's reaction after Musk "managed" to produce 50.000 vehicles, for the first time in its history,  during the last quarter.

Keep in mind, Musk has been the analyst's golden child for the past decade.

Counter just one of them, I think you will find that I have stated nothing but facts, but give it your best shot, I could also give you reading material but seeing as we are in the midst of a conversation I shall refrain.

I can't imagine the Thai government being able to pay for all that. Nowhere in the text does he say he's offering it for free. So if it is for free, that's wonderful though probably not a likely solution. But if it's not for free, then his company would be looking for millions of dollars from the misery of children and he should just sod off.

Musk is offering this for free. So guess again.

In an attempt to get this thread back on the rails, it would seem there is a Thai company proposing the same solution.. what chance would Musk have against such fierce competition.?

http://www.khaosodenglish.com/news/crimecourtscalamity/calamity/2018/07/07/not-spacex-shows-up-as-cave-rescue-becomes-circus/

And another line that caught my eye in the above article was... "Tourism Minister Wirasak, who also arrived today, was said to be planning a photo op of him cleaning a toilet."

What are the guys at khaosodenglish smoking - surely it can't be legal...?

Did you read what he is offering.

My building contracter says that all the time.

Build first let's talk about cost later.

Fool me once.

You are funny sanemax.

So, you're equating your buildings with the lives of 13 people??

Both those articles are about the same thing, the takeover of Solarcity and the potentially unlawful detriment that caused to Tesla shareholders, which has nothing to do with your claim that his companies have spent nothing but tax payers money and are a scam, am I to take it that you cant actually produce anything to support your claim?

People might think you're joking. But i just googled "really big water pumps" and really big water pumps is all i got. And the turbo diesel driven pump that i saw a week ago in an article here looked pretty decent. (even if the actual pump wasn't in the picture)

I was using bing, not google, as I said. And I don't think I've given them any indication I'd ever be interested in a penis pump (I'm not, and I've never searched for that).

A discussion of the Musk factor.

Overall, it's not very optimistic.

Quote

We don’t know if any of the ideas Musk has proposed—either in his public brainstorm or in conversations with Thai authorities—will work, enhance the ongoing efforts, or distract from them. It’s probably true that Musk’s attention to the issue on Twitter has helped raise awareness of the situation, even if the most obvious response to his tweets has been an bevy of armchair engineers in his mentions pondering even more involved ways to pull off the rescue. Hopefully the Thai authorities will be able to benefit in some way from the extra assistance. But whatever happens, it’s still not clear that Musk’s contributions will make the rescue any less of a long shot.

I didn't know bing still existed... they've obviously veered off into the niche markets 555

I really hope someone can come up with a solution here, I do have a lot of faith in Elon Musk.

Musk is a man who solves problems.

Whatever they do, it has to be done pretty quickly or this will turn out very badly...

Somehow, I get the feeling that he paints with a big brush, and big money.  Great vision and ambition don't exactly get it in a dark, cramped, wet, muddy cave.  No future in it. Is he a bushcrafter/survivalist?

Elon Musk’s 2 engineers arrive at Tham Luang cave with 7 more to arrive tomorrow

Two engineers from Elon Musk’s SpaceX and The Boring company have arrived in Bangkok on Saturday with seven more to arrive on Sunday.

Lt-Gen Veerachon Sukonthapatipark, deputy spokesman of the PM’s Office, said that one of the engineers was already at Tham Luang cave to help in the rescue operations.

Tourism and Sports Minister Veerasak Kowsurat said that several options had been proposed to extract the 13 survivors out of the flooded cave, but he added that he would take a look and a test of one of the options – the use of an underwater tunnel – which he thought would offer a safe alternative.

Elon is now building a mini submarine:

"Got more great feedback from Thailand. Primary path is basically a tiny, kid-size submarine using the liquid oxygen transfer tube of Falcon rocket as hull. Light enough to be carried by 2 divers, small enough to get through narrow gaps. Extremely robust," he tweeted Saturday.

Musk said the construction will be "complete in about 8 hours, then 17-hour flight to Thailand."

Not that this will win me many more Thaivisa friends.

I clicked on the article link from my email to read about the latest from Musk and the struggle to get these kids out of the cave .... and out of 8 pages almost all of it is the typical Thaivisa bickering, second guessing and knowing better attitude.  ?  Bit sad really that even during this emergency situation the usual Thaivisa posts keep ... posting.

No different than any other thread. Just ignore the garbage people that become miserable when they see a good thing happen.

What has the government done since the kids were found? Pump water day after day praying for no rains in the rainy season, get  an expert diver killed doing what they expect of the kids to do to exit the cave, move in 4 months of food, hog all the oxygen with hoards of helpers creating an almost catastrophe, and praise the monks saying the outcome is not in doubt and pray to the mountain spirits. This is simply appalling to watch. It's Elon who has emerged as the first rational person that really cares about the kids and understands they desperately need to get out of there immediately with safety being the highest priority.

Your very negative by ignoring people’s good intentions, including the Worlds premier cave diving rescue team who flew around the world at short notice.
Hope you get all the luck that you deserve.

What don't you understand about Elon carefully consulting the experts in Thailand and then building a submarine in 8 hours and delivering it 17 hours later?

He or his experts have only been somewhere inside the cave this mornung and no doubt his experts are not expert cavers if cavers at all. So with 8 hours they are going to build a childs submarine which can then be brought over and given tl the children who will use ot starighr away??  Who is going ri train them to use it or train those who have to train them to use it etc etc

Come on gey real. And on the 999.999% chance the submarine was totally unsuites and impractical for the situation and the rains had started again? Come on get a grip of reality.

Elon has been in direct consultation with the experts in Thailand from the very start and has taken their good advice. The experts in Thailand are in fact the reason for the submarine approach. Sorry but I give the experts in Thailand a lot more weight than your nay saying. Hats off to Elon for getting their involvement and listening to them from the get go.

Why don't some people learn not to shoot their mouths off when they haven't a clue what they are talking about?

The sub is being made already and from existing tech, it is basically just a pipe so its not that difficult to build, so yes, that is the plan, to build it right away.

I am not sure what training you imagine sitting in a pipe requires or how much training a trainer of people sitting in pipes would require.

Considering they have chosen this idea after consulting with the crew on the ground, your 99.999% figure is just pessimistic drivel.

Ask yourself, do you want people to help these kids, if so then shut up and leave it to them, if not then carry on you're doing a great job.
