On Arrival ONLY. If you have a valid, long-term extension for retirement, you can use the same priority Lane that is flagged with THAI banner and is the 'fast track' for non-Business or non-First Class pax that need special attention such as elderly, invalided, wheelchair bound or families with children.

I cannot say if a multi-entry, 1-year visa has the same permissions and also unsure if those on marriage extensions are allowed to use this.

I am on a retirement extension and have used it frequently (most recently last month) since I was made aware of it over 2 years ago.

On Arrival, here are TWO main, large immigration halls separated by one small VIP and First Class immigration hall.

The westernmost large immigration hall (nearest gates E, F & G) does NOT have the above mentioned THAI Priority lane on the far left side as you go up the ramp.

The easternmost large immigration hall (nearest gates A, B & C) DOES have the above mentioned THAI Priority lane on the far left side as you go up the ramp. That's the one I mentioned above and use if traveling back-of-the-bus.

Thanks for that information. I will try next time I'm coming through. Getting a straight answer from the Immigration Officers is fruitless. It seems that none of them have any clue about what is going on.

Last time I flew out of Bangkok with Emirates I was ushered to the empty business class

desk and when I told them I was traveling economy, they said " no problem, no business class customer

waiting" I didn't prearrange anything or pay a fee, I guess I was lucky.

Despite this superstar treatment, the plane still took off on time and I eventually touched

down in Glasgow within a couple of minutes of the advertised time.

They often do that at check-in if no one there but did you go to the Priority Lane?  I doubt they gave you a pass right?

Where did you hear this?

From the horses mouth. I phoned up to enquire and was told that much to their regret , immigration is not allowing them to continue the service.

I also could see nothing about this on their website here :

https://www.bangkokflightservices.com/home/bfs-services/premium-airport-services/

but it shows on another link ( sporadically )

There is an alternative with ' Bangkok Airport Limousine ' here :

https://www.limousine.in.th/quotation.php

1200 baht per person plus 349 for electric buggy.

Their website still allows booking but I intend to call them to see if they have they same problem as BFS.

Can't see why one company would be allowed to continue but the other not.

You take your work permit on holiday with you?

No. With the workpermit comes a BOI letter. I take the letter with me.

It is true, the fast track coupons will not be available to cattle class passengers.

I will be arriving at BKK in the next few days and this morning I've received the following:

Quote

Dear Valued Customer,

Greeting from BFS Premium Services.

We are sorry to inform you that the airport authorities have changed the policy on Premium Fast track coupons usage and has advised us of the following with immediate effect.

Only Passengers holding First and Business class tickets will be allowed to use the Premium Fast track coupons and channels.

Passengers travelling in economy class will not be allowed to use Premium Fast track channel.

We are sorry for the short notice and apologize for the inconvenience this change of policy may cause.

We will refund back to you if you no need our service tomorrow.

Not sure about other companies, but as this is a decision of the airport authorities, it should apply to all of them (well...).

There's another mob called Fast Track Immigration who provide same service in and out of both bkk airports, they provide the golf buggy service to and from your assigned departure gate at extra charge.

There appear to be several. Here is another.

A google search might find more. Logic says that if one is barred they should all be barred but this is Thailand and there might be some wheeling and dealing done behind the scenes.

Can try them and see what they say.

OK......just had an online chat with this company and they say their service is still available. However, they are Hong Kong based and may not have yet been contacted by thai immigration

But there is a happy ending to this story - at least in my case.

I've arrived today (Sunday) morning, and the immigration counters were virtually deserted. Just 3 or 4 were manned and there were two people ahead of me in the queue. The immigration officer was young, friendly and did not ask any questions, just stamped me through (METV from EU). Quite a different experience when compared to late May, when I was held at the counter for 15 minutes, questioned and generally made feel unwelcome (30d visa exemption).
