Police in Chiang Klom district of Loei were called to a house in Pak Chom where they found 66 year old Sorn Srisuthat dead from a shot to the back of the head.

Sorn from Nong Hua Khu sub-district of Udon Thani was dressed in black t-shirt and jeans and was lying in a hammock.

He was shot with a "cap gun rifle" said Thai Rath.

The shooter fled but was soon rounded up and taken back for a reenactment as shown in our pictures.

He is 38 year old stepson Suriya Saengsuklert.

He said that Sorn had moved in with his mum four years ago and since then had caused no end of trouble for him and his relatives.

He feared that the step father would be taking the family's inheritance cutting him out.

So he grabbed a cap gun, knelt in position two meters from where the victim was resting in a hammock and shot him in the head.

He has been detained pending prosecution.

poor impulse control and I also imagine an undeveloped forebrain = lack of foresight

The young man feared that his stepfather was going to cut him out of his inheritance.

So, using Thai reasoning, that's a perfectly reasonable and understandable motivation/justification for murder.

I'm sure the police and the court will see it that way as well.... After all, it ONLY was his stepfather, not like he was the real thing...   Maybe the young man was even drunk at the time, which would be an equally good excuse.  :w00t:

Please, could someone explain how is it possible to kill somebody with a cap gun?
