Thai gov. to tax (remitted) income from abroad for tax residents starting 2024 - Part II
You don't need AI you just need decent data... It would take minutes to get a list of all Foreigners who have spent more than 180 days in Thailand assuming Thailand keeps track of passport numbers & length of time spent in country (which they do) It would take minutes to get a list of all Foreigners who have remitted money to Thailand this year & their passport number (which all of our bank accounts have). It would take seconds to do a "Union" query to match the 2 datasets & go after those who haven't filed, maybe for legit reasons like only have US Social Security coming in but I'm sure they'd catch enough to make the 2,000B fine for not filing worthwhile. End of the day the data set would be limited to the approx. 300,000 Expats living in Thailand (& from that you could exclude guys who are working & are already filling returns), could do that using MS Access if not Excel. -

Horrific Bus Fire in Thailand Sparks National Debate on Safety
Corruption is only a small part of the problem, "safety is everybody responsibility" and there lies the problem the mind set of the Thais has to change to look after each other to question "Is this safe" to point out hold on I should switch off before i work on machinery ect. it is actually called Occupational health and safety (OSH) which Thailand Has Thailand is governed by a combination of laws, regulations, and best practices. The key regulatory framework includes the Occupational Safety, Health and Environment Act B.E. 2554 (2011) and various Ministerial Regulations that refine and specify certain facets of OSH. but is it Enforced NO !! will it change NO!! British National Killed in Sattahip Motorcycle Accident
Just look around, there are plenty of people gimping around with mangled feet and hands, and other debilitating injuries. I am pretty sure most of those are from motorcycle accidents, which is why before I sold the Big Bike, I stuck to ATGATT (All The Gear All The Time) -

Parents Demand 1.21M Baht Compensation for Children They Didn’t Raise
Indeed. Part of the reason for compensation is to punish the negligent for their crimes. The money should, of course, go to the family of the victims. It's not like its worked out as a direct reimbursement of money spent raising a child.- 1

S/E Asian Thai Consulates going to eVisa online system effective Tuesday Oct 8th
I disagree. For a Cambodian living in let's say Siem Reap who wants to apply for a Thai visa, not having to go to Phnom Penh makes the application process a lot easier and cheaper. Especially when you consider that it took up to a week to get a visa there, so an applicant either had to wait around or do that trip twice. The same applies to other countries where the eVisa system has already been rolled out, of course. -

Supercar convoy causes major delays on M6 motorway (video)
A convoy of luxury supercars obstructed traffic on the M6 motorway, causing significant delays. The incident, captured on video and posted online, has sparked heated discussions among netizens. A video posted by the popular page “อยากดังเดี๋ยวจัดให้ รีเทริน์ part 6” shows a line of luxury supercars, led by Ferraris, cruising along the Bang Pa-in to Nakhon Ratchasima stretch of the M6 motorway. Police vehicles accompanying the convoy prevented other drivers from overtaking, forcing the person filming to drive at 60 kilometres per hour. The driver, who had pressing matters to attend to, felt the convoy was obstructing traffic. “Voices of taxpayers like us want to complain. Why are luxury cars allowed to have activities without any public announcement? Road users are inconvenienced,” read the post accompanying the video. The incident took place yesterday, October 5, on the M6 motorway in Lam Takhong. The convoy of supercars caused a significant traffic build-up behind them as frustrated drivers were unable to pass. “This is a hot, fresh incident. Why must we drive and create such trouble? Everyone has their own business to attend to. We want everyone to help voice out,” the post continued, reported KhaoSod. The video quickly gained traction, with numerous comments pouring in. Some speculated whether the convoy was part of a film shoot or a promotional event, questioning the necessity and the lack of prior public notification. In related news, a great number of people have read the book or seen The Horse Whisperer movie, now get ready for the buffalo whisperer after a video shared by Bang Chan Police Station went viral showing a Thai officer whispering sweet nothings in the ears of two buffaloes blocking a road in Bangkok. The Horse Whisperer is a 1998 movie based on the 1995 novel of the same name. It’s doubtful whether there will be a sequel based on the Thai officer’s Dr Doolittle-esque animal-talking skills but his actions brought a smile to the faces of thousands on social media. by Bright Choomanee Picture courtesy of KhaoSod Source: The Thaiger -- 2024-10-07
