A single durian growing at an orchard in Phop Phra, Tak in Thailand's north west has been sold for a whopping 84,000 baht in an online auction.

The "morn thong" (golden pillow) variety was growing at the Muang Nao orchard and its owner had already turned down an offer of 73,000 baht for the giant with a 92 centimeter circumference.

The lucky bidder was Narongsak Kaewmuangpetch, a company owner from Chacherngsao.

Thai Rath said the price per kilo was a cool 4,666 baht.

Really like this fruit! Nutrients!

I can buy 18 kilos of durian for 1800 THB.  What fool bought that?  :cheesy:

Ain't it fun to separate rich, status-conscious fools from their money!

If you could buy at 100b/kg then resell you would be rich.

Sounds and looks stinky to me! 555

By publicising this his orchard is top of the scrumping (poaching) list. I wonder if the owner sits up all night guarding it? Maybe a 240volt fence a la fish farm??
