Thailand should make big warningsigns at their airports where they  warn tourists that zebra's mean nothing at all in Thailand.

Oh and also that there is no police on the roads..

There a no zebras in Thailand . there is the attitude we don't stop , not even for zebras. image.jpeg.2edde28a61c42defa9e3932c690b5b19.jpeg

After some discussions back and forth between the Thai parties involved and the Police, with a lot of mentioning of the word "farang", it is always the farangs fault.

Not in my experience. I've been clobbered in the rear three times in 20 years and each time the police could not have been fairer or more helpful. When I was in a Bangkok-bound bus that crashed at Pak Chong and needed stitches below the eye, a fast police car drove me and another injured passenger over 150 kilometers to a specialist hospital in Bangkok. No charge and never any bribes.

What negative experiences have you had to be so bitter?

You had the right of way as you were at a zebra crossing. That said, they mean nothing here

in Thailand. You must pay full attention all the way across. Especially as you pass between

cars stopped on the crosswalk due to traffic. Don't die defending your right of way.

It is totally irrelevant what the 'law' is in this country.  The law, charge, judge, jury and fine is decided by whatever plod is on the scene.

So why are you in here?  Bit like being an asexual in Soi 6

Amazingly  I managed to guess that Soi 6 is in Pattaya. Wonder why?

And Ujayujay has never crossed Soi 3 (Sukhumvit) when he got then green pedestrian light and all the criminals turning left into Sukhumvit completely ignore anyone starts crossing.

I always prefer to keep at least one and preferably two or more Thais between myself and oncoming traffic when crossing a road anywhere in BKK

Today I was riding my scooter in a small soy and a red car came from behind and cut me off. It’s rear light bar went inside between my bar handle and break handle. I almost went to ground. I caught him at the cross. He did not want to stop and I just showed my phone. He denied what he did plus he said that it was my fault because I did not use my side maker. ??

It is easy for them to make up a story and lie. Piece a cake. Easy solution to get away with. ?

You go figure where we are.

Definitly I would not live here if I did not have to.

Wow, forced to live here.

What a horrible thought.

You’re obviously doing something wrong.

Try to get out and meet new people, go for drives to the hinterland etc. lots to see and do.

Maybe you’re on a budget and don’t have the funds to enjoy the different opportunities.

Why ask stupid questions when you already know the answer?

You're lucky you weren't run over or didn't break your leg...you'd still be at fault though.

Update. Day 4 and I am finally walking without a limp. The giant bruise on the right side of my leg looks for the worst but that just means healing is on the way. What an experience. Yes, I was lucky.

I was run down on a BKK pedestrian crossing by a motorbike in 2012 4 hrs before my flight was due to leave for home...i made it and was very sore, he took me down and he came down too, traffic was stoped he just charged through, am pleased to say he could not ride his red motorbike after the accident he left it on the footpath but thought of what could have been and more the point what i could have been libel for his stupidity as you know nothing is as it seems in Thailand.
