Any advantages to retirement over marriage visa?
When people have dug themselves into a hole they start making things up based on their interpretation of the translation wording, for example using the literal because it suits. Differnent scenario when it doesn't suit. The order amending requirements for income based extensions is quite clear. If you arrive in October the first transaction would need to be in November, you get a month to open a bank account. Why would the OP be unable to open a bank account within a month? In the interest of simplicity, Immigration has a tendency when referring to "income" to use the word pension, you are however perfectly free to believe that only those with a "pension" can use the income method. You disputed my posts because you thought you knew better, referring to "leniency" when in fact there was an official order in effect. I said in the beginning that I tried this option and had a protracted conversation with the senior IO on the issue. Entirely up to you what you want to believe but you cannot try and make it fact. If the "exception" has not been rescinded then it is a perfectly valid option for the OP and up to him if he wants to look into it. -

Re: Thai Receiving Inheritance Remitted from Abroad
I understand that the TRD allows receiving inheritance with a value of not exceeding THB 100 million without paying inheritance tax. Is this also applicable to a Thai citizen receiving the inbound transfer of an inheritance from another country? -

Google Maps
This morning, as I was travelling, I used my GPS (Google Maps) like I always did before. But when I approached a Speed sign, Google Maps screen showed the location of a Speed Detection device and send a Voice warning about a speed camera. During my trip, this happened a few times and when I paid attention, the speed cameras where indeed at the location. Anybody else noticed this? -

Your Girlfriend's Average Sandwich Quota
Is that a Thai product or even a product sold in Thailand? A bit ridiculous, coming up with a product costing 4,000 baht that is obviously an imported product. What happened to "Shopee, Villa, Makro, Tops and others..."? 😉 -

Brawl on Bangla Road, Transgender Woman Assaults Tourist
Agreed. Always told the girls … 1 drink and I get relaxed 2 drinks and I get affectionate 3 drinks and they are safe again as I get sleepy. Always encouraged to keep drinking, wonder why that was. Self deprecation hoping it brings a smile to others … -

Does your Thai wife keep you on a short leash?
Bad parenting is also a factor in my situation too. No dad involved and her mum dumped her with the grandparents. As my lady expects so much (she's well educated), I guess it was only a matter of time before the respect was gone and things went downhill, I've done similar to you by trying to get her to consider how she acts and what she says, for over a year now, but it hasn't helped in my situation. -

Poll: Do you want Ukraine to WIN in the Russia-Ukraine war (it's a binary choice)
Im afraid Putins Russia have a totally different view than you and me, and unfortunately, he is still an respected leader. Of course always different opinions, but I guess same as we read here among us, westerns who understand everything is not great here either. The targets Ukrainian do, I bet is cleared with Usa and Nato, so they cant just fire missiles where ever they want. Also most likely intelligence information from Nato member as well used. Invading Kursk I believe was a response in fear of Trump getting the seat back and start dictating how this is going to end, and a Trumf card if can say so. Personally I would not hold Kursk but continue attacking where ever they hold forces and supplies continuously, and and not risking human resources by trying to hold a piece of land inside Russia, but what do I really know? -

LTR Visa is Now available for Long Term Residency
Fellow LTR friends. What's your thoughts on the global income tax and the LTR visa? It seems on other threads, most assume the LTR visa tax exempt wont extend to cover the new proposed global income tax (I personally think they is an element of jealousy and like to see failure). I (lazily) engaged a lawyer to do my LTR WP and I asked him recently, he said they wouldn't even consider to try and tax you after making it a central pillar of this visa type being tax free. He also said it makes no sense to allow incoming funds to be free of tax, yet still try and tax the same money a different way, it will defeat the purpose entirely. He also said the tax on global income and/or money remitted regardless of year earnt was squarely aimed at Thais anyway. Wondering what LTR visa holders think or have heard? -

BREAKING NEWS Second Assassination Attempt-Secret Service get Trump to safety
Didn't the G.O.P nominate and vote for Trump to lead the G.O.P ? If the G.O.P didnt want Trump, they wouldn't have voted for him to lead the group .- 1

Your Girlfriend's Average Sandwich Quota
My wife doesn't make or eat sandwiches although many years ago she made toasties on rare occasion. About as close as she gets to western food is making me red spaghetti sauce and air frying garlic chicken. Since I'm in Thailand and married to Thai I eat Thai food. Decent food in AC food court is b60-80. The extent of my western food is random tuna or ham sandwich, home made pickles, youghrt Lately I've been rebelling and asking for omelette cooked in butter or olive oil. If I'm feeling really feisty I'll cut in half and melt cheese on top and eat it with ... hold on .. wheat toast. Another rarity might be her bringing home baked goods. She will eat pizza a few times a year. She eats half small and I eat one and a half We only eat together weekends. She will not eat non-bakery bread, beans, dill pickles, tinned tuna, pasta (rare), potatoes.. really any western food that is not meat. She loves blue cheese. I'm a firm believer in eating same time as possible and same food. Sleeping same bed/room
