Did I ever mention I'm a thin and light phone guy by nature.  But as KhunHeineken said well, "As individuals, I suppose we buy devices that are relevant to our needs."

So looking at 4 rugged phones as compared on devicespecifications.

For me, but I am not buying any of these, so I guess I could either been seen as unbiased or naive, I like the Ulefone Armour 5.

The Zoji (HomTom) Z33, and the Elephone Soldier are budget rugged phones.  The Zoji going for $150 at Aliexpress ($128 at SUNSKY) has a very low end CPU, and the Elephone Soldier which goes for $190 at Aliexpress has the smallest screen to go along with budget everything else (but the CPU is unknown to me, 10 Cores with 20 nm process technology, but 2 of the Cores run at 2.5 GHz; might work).  The Elephone also takes a body width of 78 mm to inefficiently deliver its 5.5 in screen.

The Ulefone Armour 5 goes for $195 at Aliexpress available in a nice blue color.  It has a 76 mm body width, and 228 gram weight, so it's pocketable, and wireless charging capable with NFC which are pluses for me.  The 5.85 in screen is smaller than the 6.21 inch screen of the Blackview BV9600, but I would guess that it's big enough.

They company's website talks a good line about audio output, and it ships with Android 8.1 Oreo.

I watched the below two youtube videos on Android Oreo and Android Pie.  The videos have a lot of details in them and the guy talks really fast so I had to rewind and listen and look again at a few things.  It's the same guy in both videos and he seems to give a detailed and balanced review of both android systems.

In Oreo I liked the way you can watch a video but minimize it and work on another screen, but my Blackview has a split screen feature so that's ok.  I also liked how Oreo minimizes battery power to apps running in the background.  That's a great feature and one I look forward to in the future.

For me, Android Pie was too bigger step.  It did not seem to follow on with improvements from previous Android versions with many changes to the UI. I didn't like what I saw and I will make a bold prediction that Android Pie may even effect phone sales.

After seeing it, my immediate thought was I might skip it, but I will have a play with it in a shop before I make a final decision.

I hate to disapoint but Microsoft have come out and said there wont be a Windows 11 instead they will just keep updating Windows 10. How long that can go on for is a mystery - will we still have Windows 10 in 5yrs?

You should also take a look at the Vernee V2 pro link i posted earlier that has 6gb RAM you are looking for with a 6000+ mah battery but slimline. Might suit your needs.

I know Microsoft said Windows 10 will be the last version of Windows.  I was joking about it.  What's the difference between Windows 10 Service Pack 5 (or Update 5) or just calling it Windows 11?  ????

Isn't Windows 10 on it's second big update (Service Pack) now?

I got my Blackview BV9000 Pro earlier this year.  I have no need to update the phone just yet.  I tend to update my phone when the battery life becomes too short for average daily use.

My P10000 pro is the same heavy and needs an extended USB Type C cable, saying that the phone is brighter than other chinese phones,  the camera is slightly better and the Screen on Time is off the chart at around 16-17 hours, no need to charge for at least 3 days.

One complaint i do have is about the updating of the software, the P10000 was shipped with Android 7.1.1 which was promised to be updated to Oreo but every enquiry I always get the 'Be patient' response on the forums.

I do like the bang for buck you get with Chinese phones but after owning 4 or 5 of them (Xiaomi, Ulefone, Blackview) Im starting to realise that the OS you get on the phone will probably not be updated to a newer version so that is something to bear in mind when purchasing.

My Blackview BV9000 Pro was updated to Oreo yesterday.  Run a manual check for an update.  The update might be there for your P10000 as well.
