Howling And Housing: Dentists And Real Estate Agents In Huahin

Mrs Sling and I will be in Hua Hin from Sun (11th) to Tue (13) to check out some real estate for rent . . . tried communicating with the real estate agents there, but it is tough.

Now, Mrs Sling had a filling drop out and is in need of a dentist, so we thought . . . while we're there. . .

So:

Does anyone know any reputable ( :o ) Real Estate agents we can work with to find something suitable for 12 months.

Does anyone have details on a good dentist?

Cheers

There are 2 really good dentists in town, the one i would recomend is dentist 2000.

Its at the far end of town near the flyover.

As for real estate agents, forget it.

There are countless propertys for rent, just hire a bike and find one.

Why would you want to pay real estates commission on top of your rent.

Mike.

Thank you, Mike. Would you happen to have a phone number for the dentist? I can't seem to find that info on the web.

As for houses and the like, you have a point, of course, but aren't the contact numbers on the houses those of R/Es?

Slight prob with the bikes . . . we're flying in for three days and have a 10month old . . . will rent a car at Suva...... and drive around.

My wife and I attended the San Paulo Hospital on the main drag. She had a crown, a tooth removed and scale and clean. I had a scale and clean. Her account came to 8000bht. Mine was 800bht.

Dr Thewan Thipwataksorn is young but very professional. Doesn't try to create extra work and the facilities are pretty good - probably not quite as good as you are used to but not exactly a medieval torture chamber :o In fact we both agreed there was less pain than our local dentist - the mouth, but particularly the pocket!

Here's a list of his charges, current in Nov 06

For scaling and polishing 800 - 1000 baht

For x-rays 100 per film

For tooth-like color filling 500 per surface

For in office dental bleaching 6000 baht

His email address is [email protected], but you wont need to book. They're open 7 days and we just gave them a call when we arrived. Got an appointment within 2 days.

Cheers

:o Thank you Ellis, for the details. Isn't it amazing how the price differentiation can be so massive?!

I was in Loei on the week-end (direct flights between Sing and Udon Thani now!!!! for SGD50 each way!) and had a crown re-applied and my teeth cleaned. Modern equipment and the cost . . . 500baht. Simply amazing. Had a crone done here in Sing a few years ago and it cost me over SGD2000 - about AUD1700, and still cheaper than in Sydney with my regular dentists.

Again, thanks Ellis and Mike!
