Tragedy struck at a house in Chiang Mai province when two brothers started fighting after getting drunk.

The younger brother Jamnong, 64, at the house in Nong Faek sub-district, claimed that his older sibling Nop, 66 was always sick and was a financial burden on him.

The pair started fighting with the younger man attacking the elder over the head with a shoe horn.

Furious the elder man then picked up a sharpened tent pole and stabbed his brother to death.

Nop has been charged by Saraphi police with assault causing death and detained.
