Ban Muang reported that a young European tourist was stretchered out of the area of the fourth level of Pa La-U waterfall on Sunday after falling on slippery rocks.

He was named as Mr Bret Geenen aged 19 who had an injury to his right leg.

The Thai news media said that there are many visitors to the scenic falls made all the more attractive after recent rains.

But the rains have meant that much of the path is treacherous prompting the Kaeng Krachan park authority to install ropes to assist visitors in the steep climbs.

The tourist was reported safe in hospital.

And I hope he will give the Thai rescue team a big thank you as soon as he is able.
