Thanks interesting, but I really wanted to hear from someone who has installed internet in the Prawet area of Bangkok. True, TOT, CAT, 3BB?

I can tell you about CAT but from Pattaya. I don't see how your Bangkok location requires area specific reports because most of these services are rolled out first in BKK before we ever see them in other cities. In other words, anything we can get you can get better.

CAT fiber-optic for 4.5 years now, from when they first rolled it out in my area and it has been flawless. Started out at 30/7 Mbps, up to 100/50 Mbps, now 200/200 Mbps for 12 hours, and 500/500 Mbps for 12 hours per day (you choose if you want the fast internet at night or day). I can't even use the 500/500 Mbps service yet as they had to order new equipment from BKK to handle it.

CAT has finally become competitive with their prices. Check out the new C-Internet packages which just became available. If you have CAT available on your street - get it!

The reason I am asking area specific is that not all hi-speed services are readily available in all areas of Bangkok, for example in my current location, Phra Kanong, a couple of 100 metres from Sukhumvit!

OK, so you're asking if certain services are available in your area. Just choose your carrier of choice and visit the office. That's what I do if I'm moving somewhere and I want a particular service. They will quickly tell you if they are available in your street, which is really what you need to know. It's quite possible that it is available on one street, but not another. If it isn't available on your street, then you might be able to get it with a charge per meter to pull lines to your house.
