UK Passport Renewal Change (and it's not good)

Previously one has been able to renew one's passport early and get up to 9 months' "credit" added to the term of the new passport.  That has now stopped.

 

From the article:

 

"The change broadly reduces the useful life of an adult passport from 10 to nine and a half years, approximating to a 5 per cent price increase."

Well what do you expect from the UK  government, what is reasonable is law you don't get that from the UK government if you live aboard or travel.
