Fire at Khon Kaen department store

KHON KAEN: -- A huge broke out in the Sentosa department store in Khon Kaen town last night and was still raging at time of going to press. No deaths or injuries had been reported as of 11pm.

The fire broke out on the second floor of the threestorey building at around 9pm and rose to the third floor, according to witnesses. The store had already closed when the fire started.

Some 20 fire engines sent to the scene were still battling the fire at nearly midnight.

Residents of the area were evacuated.

Is the sentosa department store in fairy plaza ? (I just knew the place as fairy plaza...) or is it the place near to the large hotels, a few farang bars and has a cinema at the top (dont recall the name but sentosa doesnt ring a bell..)

the old sentosa is at banglamphoo market, opposite the police station

ahhh yes - now i know it - use to walk past there every day on the way to tanon ruan rom for something to eat or to bung khen nakorn ! Now I know the name of the market as well - saw some good morlam there...

well I didnt know there was 2 or 3 storys with public access - i remember the market stalls and a clothes store opposite the police station.

Anyone know how bad the damage was now it is all over ?

I use to see a Local Khon Khen newspaper actually at a newsagents near sentosa bit it would take me a month to read it (I read thai very slowly - but learn alot while doing it !) - just wonder if there is any news in that (dont know the name of it !)

Thanks
