webfact
Video: Back again! "Topless farang" returns for 'more trouble' video screenshot A video showed one of the now infamous "topless farangs" go back to the garage where they complained about noise earlier in the week. But this time there were no threats - a man was seen filming in the darkness and was carrying a young child. A Thai filming can be heard saying: Back again to cause more trouble. The matter ended up in the hands of the Bang Lamung police after two men without shirts who appeared to have imbibed of alcoholic beverage were seen up close and angry at the yard earlier in the week. Speculation was rife online as to the nationality of the two men. Fearing trouble the Thai owner - who was praised for keeping his cool - told the cops that the men were trespassing on his property. They claimed noisy work was going on after 6pm causing annoyance. The owner has said he has done everything he can to minimize noise for the neighbors. -- © Copyright Thai Visa News 2018-09-
Popular Post Peterw42
It looks like a pretty established workshop, I dont think it popped up yesterday in the middle of a residential neighbourhood. A bit like buying a house next to the airport then complaining about the noise.

Popular Post CelticBhoy
If the topless chap is indeed Scottish then going without a shirt in the burning hot tropics at night is a rather good idea. Wearing a long-sleeved shirt and a large hat in the daytime is an absolute must for the pale-skinned fellow. We gingers must take caution at all times . . . . ????

Yep.. stupid, i can understand people complaining about noise if its in a residential area but not on a location like that. I would love to see a better map where the houses are and who was there first.
Popular Post Dmaxdan
The phrase "A Storm In A Teacup" seems to be appropriate for this. The Farang has made his point but would be well advised to leave it be now or possibly face some sort of retribution. Not necessarily from property the owner himself, but from those Thais out there who will feel that some sort of justice should to be handed out for dissing one of their own. Lets not forget that Thai people are never wrong....
Popular Post Old Croc
My take on this. Firstly, I wish they would use the term shirtless to describe males, if they have to talk about their clothes at all. The word "topless" has been used here to sensationalize a fairly non event in my opinion. If I had to suddenly leave my house for any reason I would also be shirtless. Secondly, the speculation and emphasis on accents seems to serve no purpose. To address the poster who said the factory was there first, I disagree. (opinion only). That workshop looks very new to me and seemingly very clean and organized for the genre. Also, I couldn't see a westerner buying a house next to an active workshop. Those of us who live here are well aware Thais generally do not think about noise in the same way westerners do. Consideration of others is not high on their cultural awareness scale. A Thai could be using an angle grinder or banging away on metal with a hammer in the middle of the night without thinking it could be upsetting nearby residents with their different needs, a child's sleeping patterns for example. Although I don't know if there is a history of more reasonable contact between the parties previously, the reaction from the westerners was over the top aggressive, . Frustration may have been a driving force. This sort of behavior is very wrong almost anywhere and certainly in this country. If they lived in a more urban part of Thailand they may have found themselves in a lot more trouble with the police. Their problem should have been handled in a very different manner. 5

balo
"Go home farang" or embrace the Thai culture . Can'stand the noise ? Don't buy a house. Instead buy a condo at 30th floor and the noise level will be reduced to "nothing". 1 1
Burma Bill
Ah - now we may be getting to the bottom of this. Perhaps the "young" child keeps crying and he is blaming the garage owner.
unamazedloso
This has some racist overtones to it. Lets not forget the farang might be living here right so be more respectful. Back in Aus mainly as a kid i have had the same issues directed at me from having been told to get out of gang areas, had skateboards broken, bashed and bikes stolen, guns pulled on me on the he train, told to turn music down in my car and house, told not to start motorcycles to go to work, etc etc... All the people doing this were foreigners living in Australia. Thais dont seem to understand farang are people to and we all pretty mucb want peace. Yes these morons went about things the wrong way but bashing them verbally might not be the right thing to do. In Phuket i had swedes come and intimidate us about noise of machinery i had and also that my dog was too noisy. Its nothing compared to what thais like to complain about me here. Same, same....

Dogmatix
We have to admit that we are all in here because the headline suggested some farang women sunbathing topless on the beach were remonstrating with Thais about being too noisy. The real story turns out to be rather drab and short on facts.
Small Joke
Filthy foreigners, they're overrunning the country. Thank god the army is in charge to keep them from taking over and colonizing the place! ???? 1
soistalker
You all seem to be taking the Thai side of things. I'll bet the noise at all hours has been getting the farang upset for a while. I can understand that. There are rules for when the shop can make noise, but the rules never are followed by Thais.
