CCTV systems questions

Can anyone tell me from experience what the pro/cons are for POE CCTV systems Vs analogue

I am looking at buying a 16CH 8MP NVR with cameras to install at the farmhouse. The low spec and price in Thaialand seems very expensive compared to online. i have no interest at all in using wifi cameras. i have underground conduits going to all buildings required.

Obviously cable length and size will have an impact. I can use either cat 5e or cat6 for the POE and for lengths of of 80m Then i assume i would need a switch or some kind of booster.

Why particularly POE?

Regular Ethernet and power brick ar likely to be better priced.

from what i have seen. its either POE or Analogue, the latter being coax and 12v . the former being rj45 connectors on cat5e or cat6, cat 7 is to costly and time consuming to terminate. plus the network speed from the NVR is 200Mbs and the tranfer rate of cat6 is about 1Gbs. the larger conductor size of the cat6  should hopefully help with Voltage drop and only using 1 cable is easier to install

i am not sure what you mean by "powerbrick"

something like this. with 8 pig snout cameras and 8 bullet type.

that with a different end powers a camera camera like this

So neither PPOE nor analog.

Over past year we made upgrade to our hotel and resort camera systems from old bad picture analogue type to HD Panasonic network camera

We use cat5 cable with power line included inside

Our resort system have two camera power supply because security gate cameras 80 meter from recording room

We connect network to far away cameras around gate area using fiber LAN adapter

please see photo of camera network cable and camera power box type we use at our systems >

Could you give a bit more detail as to model and cost per camera?

Very intersting, can you share the model of the NVR and the cameras. and a brief spec, I.e. 4mp 1080p and an over all cost

many thanks

We use no POE on our network camera system because this is preferred choice from our network setup person

We have mix of panasonic bullet/dome  720p and 1080p 30fps cameras cost 6000 B up to 12000 B each camera

Our panasonic most are E-type camera are selected to suit area of use and view angle

We have some Hikvision 4mp 30fps bullet camera cost I think 4500 B each camera all DS 2CD2042 type

We use windows 10 PC and NVR software for camera admin and record

Final note >

My choices for the home camera set would look at the brand Hikvision cameras and Hikvision NVR box

High pixel camera not always best. much info on www about this subject

Please see below England sample from Hikvision 4mp popular camera we use outdoor. also video on pixel subject
