I'm non-negotiably hetero, and honestly have a little concern of not being able to tell who is who.

Only because I don't want to end up in an embarrassing situation for either party...but since I don't do the bar thing I suspect it's unlikely.

 

I have no judgement about the culture tho, other than understanding that a tolerant culture is way better than the alternative, and folks should be free to express their sexuality however they please.

Quite easy to know why if you think about it logically. Since babies Thais have been brainwashed to watch and accept that gays & ladyboys are "normal". They are all over tv on nearly all soap operas, so called "comedy" "funny" shows, as celebs, and everywhere where you walk you can't escape them. In other countries you don't get that rubbish plastered all over tv and in your face like you do in Thailand.

i think most males wont actually admit their interest in lady boys....

some are very beautiful--going with them doesnt make a man gay.

some ladyboys are scary and revolting.

there is a large number of ladyboy  bars in bkk...if there is NO  interest--im sure these bars would not exist...i doubt if the the men going there would like being labelled-gay....

I know for sure that SOME of the lady boys,let's say the ones that are finished and done all the way, are more beautifull then some of the nee sayers wifes and that deep in their hart they would love to try. They might not like to be labelled as gay but doing a dude no matter how much they are trying to be dressed up to look like woman is still doing a man, hence gay.
