Perhaps there is a quota for the number of times that emoji can be used, and that quota was used up by people reading your posts ? ????  :shock1:  :w00t:  :rolleyes:

Yeah - pretty broken. Looks like someone deleted the image from the database for some reason.

It looks like something having gone haywire.

The code for the non-displaying rolleyes emoticon in this topic is as follows:

Quote

<img alt=":rolleyes:" data-emoticon="" src="https://static.thaivisa.com/forum/uploads/emoticons/rolleyes.gif" title=":rolleyes:">

I used it (from my desktop - Win 10) using the emoticon icon in the text box: Odd - it appears (unanimated) when I select it from the "most recently used" emoticons -> ????

In that case, you got in your post exactly what you selected from the list, but in your latest post above the correct emoji now displays, which probably means that you clicked on something else in the list this time.

On my screen, the first page of the emoji list has the correct image for the rolleyes emoji. When I do a search in the list for this emoji, the errant image with text also shows.

It seems there is a difference between the emoji in the "Smileys and People" category ( ???? ) and the ones in the "default" category ( :rolleyes: )for some reason.

Fortunately for me, the :woot: emoji ( :w00t: ) still works fine or I'd be so depressed that I'd have to stop posting (for maybe 2-3 whole minutes even) !!

:smile: ????

The emojis in the "default" category are the old ones, stored on thaivisa.com, whereas the new emojis in the "Smileys and People" category were added with a recent upgrade and are linked to cdn.jsdelivr.net. Personally, I like the new emojis a lot more; see the old and new smile emoji above.

The gif image seems to have disappeared in the last upgrade.

Now I get it. The missing rolleyes emoji in the Default category was part of the series of fascinating animated GIFs. I agree that this is a sad loss.

cdn.jsdelivr.net, from where Thaivisa sources its new emojis in the other categories, apparently takes the emojis from the Unicode Full Emoji List and this unfortunately seems to include no animated GIFs. What is the world coming to?

Now, if the above emoji, sourced from data.photofunky.net, were available in 64x64 pixels, I believe it should be acceptable to link to it in posts on Thaivisa, at least until the rolleyes emoji in our Default category gets revived.
