Thanatat

The authorities at Khao Yai National Park are continuing to search for a 22-year-old man who had ventured deep inside the park last weekend to reportedly explore supernatural activities.

Park officials are also distributing photographs of Thanatat Tiyapongpattana, so tourists can help locate the man. Hotel operators too have been told to keep an eye out for him, while a sign has been put up at the entrance of the park.

Tourist police have also been alerted, in case the man has already left the park.

The missing man has tattoos on his face, short hair and is about 185 centimetres tall. He has about Bt10,000 in cash on his person.

Kanchit Srinoppawan, chief of the national park, said Prathana Wisuthikul, 55, had called on his office to help look for her son, who entered the park last Saturday and has still not returned. She also filed a report with the provincial police.

Park officials have checked all natural pathways and camping grounds inside the park, but to no avail. The search will be extended to cover waterfalls later, he said.

Thanatat entered the park on foot and does not have a mobile phone, which makes it difficult for the security system to locate him. The search will continue until he is found, Kanchit said, adding that there is a small chance that he was attacked by wild animals.

Call Prathana at (061) 083 7665 or the park office at (086) 092 6527 if you happen to spot the man or know of his whereabouts.

Yes, that's supernatural for being a Thai.

I'll have a bottle of the port too, wherever it is. Knowing my luck it's probably travelled in time already - from the bottle to the toilet.

Going on a hunt for supernatural without a dozen of amulets is a no go! Maybe he should have asked the guy who is singing the core values with chains around the neck like an East LA rapper.

natural pathways

Not the paths to take to find the super natural.

Obviously the ghosts had designs on him????

He just has not returned from the Twilight Zone. Have patience!

Duffus.

Would one not need a work visa to assist in the search? This would fit the description of work Thai people could be paid to do.

Thai officials need to understand that it is not acceptable or something that foreigners will appreciate, to have the rules only apply when it is in the advantage of Thai people, and to simply say these rules do not apply when they wish to recruit foreigners on low paid, or no pay basis. The generosity of visitors and expats can only go so far before we have an entitlement to greater rights within the kingdom.

Treat others as you yourself wish to be treated.

I certainly hope he is found quickly and in good health.

If he's found with that 10,000 baht still on him, it would prove some supernatural existence.

I think the 10,000B was an incentive for someone to locate him.

I hope it's not an incentive to locate only the 10,000 Baht, but not 'find' the guy.
