New car financing - must use the dealer's financing?

Featured Replies

Hi all, we are considering getting a new car and will require financing. Do I have to go with the financing options offered by the dealer or can I arrange my own through my bank (SCB/Kasikorn) or even 3rd party like Tisco? Does anyone actually compare offers for financing of cars or do ppl just take the one offered by the dealer?

Dealers make money from finance, they love it, if you look at the total cost of finance you may look for a balcony...

Shop around with different dealers, we found a 4 year interest free deal on a new nissan

Thanks guys. If I get a good deal from my bank is it not possible to use that loan instead of the dealer's own financing?

When i looked into this it wasnt a option to secure finance on a new vehicle without going through the dealer.

I actually looked at finance rates when buying my car and the dealer had the lowest price or at least the same .

If you source the money from somewhere other than the dealers finance option as far as the dealer is concerned you would be paying cash.

What do you mean? all loans today are interest free?

Do we always need a down payment for a new car financing?

Some dealers require a deposit or they won't place an order with the factory especially if you require a not common colour, because perhaps dealers can't cancel the factory order, so they ask for deposit.

Different manufacturers & supplier / different policies...

If you arrange financing elsewhere then you pay cash to the dealer, there is no finance to be arranged by them. If they insist you must use the finance company that they offer, go somewhere else.

Its not the dealers that insist you finance through them. The banks are the ones who insist you finance through the dealers bank

What i did was to get a loan through my UK bank, transferred the money over here then paid 100% cash for the car. Much easier and the car is yours from day 1.

Isuzu Udon Thani uses Tisco I think 1/2 interest
