So far i think the renewed music topic is doing very well.

It already has produced some very interesting remarks.

My idea is we do not really need two music topics, one for 50 60 70 and one general music post.

Like others have said music is very personal and music is timeless.

Some older groups now make modern music and some young people have the old sound.Lets combine the two topics, most poster visit both pages already.

I do not remember who but someone posted a song by the band Black Box,interesting name if you look a little deeper but that is beside the point.Where would that song be without the video?Sex sells!!!

Queen made the very first real music video and after that music has never been the same.(video killed the radio star)

A while ago i had a conversation with a real audiophile, the kind that can never really enjoy music because he was always listening for flaws,in the music itself or in the system he was listning to.

I told him i also liked good sound but i also enjoyed watching the music(video)His answer?:really?interesting concept"

And that was that.I have a nice system with great sound but i can also enjoy a song i know on my car radio.

I hope you will enjoy this one,not typical for them but very different.

I like the segment between 1:17 and 2:08.  The first and last parts of the song I can leave.

Myself, I prefer the two threads separated.  If I'm looking for older music and it's lumped in with everything and anything (including disparate genres) it becomes a mess IMHO.

That's a very good point Tippaporn.

Less is perhaps indeed more in this case. I retract my previous remarks.

Cheers for the Remainers!

The poor man was seduced by coc( a cola) and dance/trance music. At his age he should have known better but coming from Essex county in east England, a low lying area subject to the cold winds blowing off the North Sea, he had little chance to be influenced by the magic of the West Coast of the USA.

Still, it's never too late.

Read Tom Wolfe's Electric Koolaid Acid Test.............and see how much you can apply to modern times.........you'll be surprised.  and Thanx for the Dead's Franklin Tower, forgot about this one............great acoustics for a Sunday afternoon and more than one tipple.

Russian Moscow based post punk band Manicure off their eponymous 2009 debut.  The lyrics are limited (hey, they're Russian) but this song has a killer riff.  I could blow a pair of speakers with this song.

Linkin Park brought Russian Rock to the world ...........  went to Helsinki for a long weekend one summer in 1987 and I think I only slept about 8 hrs in four days, tons of good Russian Rock bands playing all over the city, something us in USA never knew about.

I have a selection of good Russian bands that I came across when my son and I were searching for new, unheard-by-us music on YT.  That selection is on a computer that's currently down, though.  Here's another by Manicure which I like . . . The One . . . also off of their 2009 debut.

Here's another fairly decent Russian band from Novosibirsk, Ploho.  This one is called Crosses off of their 2018 release, New Buildings.  When you're used to rock being sung in English it's always a bit odd to hear the vocals in another language.

Slaps, have you calculated how many years it'll take you to post every Pink Floyd tune ever recorded?  LOL

This one's for you.  Live at Brighton Dome, 29 June '72.  One of my favourites off of Ummagumma.
