is it way out of bounds to think they might get ferguson out of retirement to steady the ship for 6 months?

I think you have to keep him out of it, move forward come what may, otherwise it could effect the incoming manager. Especially of Ferguson does well. Cycle begins again.

Yup. And I think he should be taking it a little more easy these days. Not sure that's possible as a Premier League manager.

But I hope whoever the new boss is they are willing to take his advice on things.

yeah guess that was always the trouble before wasn't it, his shadow looming over it all. well, that and moyes being an incompetent moron of course.

i can't really see why someone like pochettino would want to move to united right now, place is a mess.

Well its no surprise the Moron has got himself sacked,

you have only got to look at his record of being a 3 season

manager throughout his career, or should I say 2 1/2 season.

His consistency for getting the sack has to be commended, special one my ars....

Pogba will be throwing a party tonight along with Smalling & Jones and Lukaku and Martial (did I miss anyone out ?)

They'll all put in a display of the season this week and probably win by 5 goals for the first time in ages

Even if he never manages again he still currently has the best record of the modern era.

Let's not forget that Poch together with his backroom staff,

only signed a new 5 yr contract in May 2018

The only record he should be noted for is spending $$$$$$$$

And I'm talking a lot of $$$$$$$$ before he can win anything.

Put him in a mediocre club and then you'll see what a $hit

manager he is, but he wouldn't take a job like tat cos he knows it himself, the 2 1/2 season big spender!

How much money did Porto spend before their CL win? How much did Inter spend compared to other teams around Europe when they won 3 titles in a row + the CL?

Mourinho has won 25 major honours. What have you achieved that's remarkable in your life?

The truth is, Mourinho is unfortunate to be someone gifted who was amazing at something, but now isn't quite as good as they used to be and can't find the magic again. Most people who post on this forum will only ever be average at something... tops. That's why they love it when someone extremely talented can't match the high standards which they set themselves.

It's a very English thing to try and bring talented people down. The same thing happened with Rooney.

In the crowd at Anfield was SAF and David Gill sitting together and a way away Ed Woodward and Sir Bobby Charlton.

Their body language said it all

I spotted this too, and thought it might be significant.

he's had the biggest budget and chequebook in the league at every club he's been at, ricky lad. porto winning the champions league was an amazing achievement. everything since then is about par given what he's had to spend. until recently of course where he's bogeying all over the place.

Talented manager's can stay in a job for longer than

2 1/2 seasons....... That should tell you a lot about what

Mourinho stands for.

I'd say he'd be really pleased with himself getting another

pay off to leave a club again!

He's a specialist at mugging football clubs off as far as I see.

If you are a Chelsea, Inter or Porto fan he's probably given you some of the best days of your life.

There is no mention of the pay off. I actually wouldn't be surprised if he waived it. He won't be happy at his failure at United, and I don't actually think the money would sweeten the blow.

I'll always be fond of Mourinho and hope he does well at his next club (as long as they aren't in the Prem). If only to shut up people like you. The real mugs.

Can't see him ever working in the prem again. The big 5 or 6 wouldn't touch him and the rest couldn't afford him or his spending

You're probably right. Maybe Bayern next?

Moyes is out of work and deserves another go ????

Big Sam would would think the job was below him so rule him out.

Pochs name all over it despite the heavyweight fee to buy him out of contract.

yeah, as if any big club with serious intentions would go near this busted flush and his absurd histrionics now.

i'll be glad to never have to watch his pathetic self-centred performances in match of the day interviews again to be honest. the premier league is better off without him.

Each to their own. So who is your hate figure going to be now then?

'Sky sources' say Carrick will be caretaker until the end of the season.

EDIT: Sky corrected themselves and said it will be Carrick for 2 days, then another 'external' appointment to the end of the season. Drum roll......
