One person was killed and another hospitalised when a trailer truck ploughed into stalls at a market in Phitsanulok on Friday morning.

Driver Thavorn Noppawan, 64, remained at the market in Bang Krathum district until police arrived, but it remains unclear why he lost control and swerved into the crowd of shoppers.

Police suspect he might have fallen asleep at the wheel.

Samarn Luenfa, 49, was killed and Boonruang Boonnamsaeng, 60, was injured.

The truck also brought down two electricity poles and damaged 11 other vehicles, including a six-wheel truck and eight pickups.

Noen Kum police were summoned at about 6.30am to the market in front of Wat Tayom on Wang Thong-Sak Lek Road.

No brake issues then? Falling asleep, more likely he came from an all night drinkig session with friends.

He demolished two electricity poles and 11 vehicles, one of them a six wheel truck......Man, that is one heavy sleeper...

R.I.P. to yet another innocent victim.....

Just another day, another road kill !!

Why the need for an investigation? You seem to have all the bases covered with armchair detective work.
