If you are near the south wall be careful not to touch the electric fence wires..... you can never be sure whether Colin has connected them to his 24v wheelchair battery  -  or the mains..

I'm up to my waist in muddy water and sugar cane, if I touch the fence, you'll be needing a new commentator .....

  • I do hope that question is open to the forum. Could be the longest running thread ever.

  • Yes looks as if the Junta can learn something from TV for their election

  • It already stops twice an hour for that very purpose. Just wait for the next 2 or 32 minutes past the hour.

The exceptionally few votes in total in a forum with a membership reportedly in the thousands, says something. It's wonderful that some people are very active in the thread, but I offer that it is one of the reasons there is such disinterest. It's an uncomfortable, embarrassment of guffaws and snorts one hears down at the Shady Pines Retirement Home when Wilbur repeats the same story for the umpteen time, while  Olaf reminisces about the  days when he walked to school in Lapland, and Boolie  passes wind.

Surely, there is a bit of originality out there?

Excellent post! How about pinning something in every forum a week or so before the race begins?

I just finished a load of washing and am now trying to reassemble a bra.

Those things have more parts than an automatic gearbox.

Send for Crossy, he is the front loading bra expert.????????

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think this will be the first year that a less than 8-dotter has won the contest.

I know I for one am eagerly awaiting the acceptance speech ...

What do these dots signify? I've never even noticed them before.

They signify your status in life, and you are but a single dot short of a full complement Sir.

Does this mean that Baboon will be out of the running for future years?  One can hope.

I've often been told I'm a sandwich short of a picnic. Does that mean I will I get Thai prices for ice cream?

But really, what are they for?

The dots are tied to how many posts you have made.

Things are quiet here in Chiang Mai among the local expats.  The place is swarmed with Thais from Bangkok who've come to thrill at the cool air and without any local representation in the POTY contest, there really isn't much point in us locals gathering, especially since so many of the restaurants have decided to have New Year's "specials" at five to ten times their normal prices.

I guess there is some solace in seeing the Bangkok Thais happily paying this "dual" pricing, while us locals can stay home, open the windows, enjoy the cool air, fix dinner ourselves and watch the same fireworks and listen to the bands from our high rise condo windows.

Isn't it technically referred to as 'suicide'?
