Surin: Thai woman driver lies unconscious in her car wreck all night but survives

Police in Kapcherng district of Surin received a 191 emergency call at 6.30 pm on Monday evening from a woman who said she was severely injured after driving her car off the road.

But soon thereafter the signal went dead, reported Sanook.

As nightfall came a police search team scouring the desolate area tried but ultimately had to give up the search.

At 7.30 am a passerby alerted the authorities when they found 32 year old Wannapha five meters from her overturned and destroyed Nissan March.

She had a two inch wide and five inch long gash to her head and was covered in dried blood.

She managed to tell local rescue services that she had made the emergency call to 191 then passed out unconscious.

She awoke in the morning and was able to crawl out of the wreckage of her car and after calling out for some time managed to alert a member of the public as to her plight.

Kapcherng Rescue foundation found her dehydrated and confused and gave her first aid at the scene.

She was initially taken to Kapcherng Hospital and then transferred to Prasat Hospital where she was pronounced to be out of danger.

Police are interviewing people in the area to try and find out what happened.

Kapcherng district of Surin

There is no such district in Surin Provence. There is a Kap Choeng district and Kap Choeng is home to Surin Immigration.

Indeed, just the usual spelling chaos.

Happened in Kap Choeng district on some remote road.

OK, now we've sorted out the translation irrelevancy, can we get on with lambasting the Thai lady driver or Thai emergency services or, better still, both?

If you want to be "pedantic" about things I think you mean "province" as apposed to provence??

Just saying
