Man dies as car slams into pickup making U-turn on bypass road

ah! all 3 photos are the same accident!!!

sort of makes it even clearer, except that an actual video sequence would clear all up...

but really!   the 2nd photo shows the legal part of it all... the U turn symbol painted clearly on the tarmac

 - Straight Ahead is not an option, unless you 'wanted' to die!

just when? was the 2 and 2 put together that the accident was related to a murder suspect?

(remembereing that in the OP, the bit I mentioned earlier the police were at the time 'considering'? whether to lay Charges?

In the TV news an hour ago they informed that the dead driver had killed his wife with a knife, so might be the reason he drove into the pick-up

Agree.

It's hard to believe that a driver slams into another car in such a way fully conscious.

I am 61 :whistling:

You wont make 62 if you drive like this guy! ???? ????

Looking at the first photo there should have been plenty of room to pass (illegally) in front of the pick-up truck.

But the 2nd photo suggests he has moved even further to the right, and the 3rd photo looks as if the red car hit almost full-on.

It must have been going at some speed to flip the PU over.

Unfortunately, I see these types of U-turn everywhere, and many drivers abuse the U-turn lane as the overtaking lane.

Follow-up story here.. https://www.thephuketnews.com/fatal-high-speed-bypass-accident-was-suicide-bid-by-fleeing-phuket-murder-suspect-say-police-70165.php#YSQawcREjRhhi6jF.97

“It is only after learning this sequence of events that we came to realise that Panuruj might well have intentionally driven his car into the pickup to kill himself to escape his crime,”

Humm... Not sure is was a sensible way to escape...

How many more have to die before the Thai Police properly train and put traffic cops on the roads to vigorously enforce the road rules instead of simply manning roadside checks for helmets and licenses? They don't need to use trained policemen to do that - it's a clerk's job.
