Region-free blu ray players in Thailand

Featured Replies

Does anyone know how to find region-free 4k blu-ray players in thailand? Would like to get a high end model, but would need to be able to play disks from different regions. I saw one post saying you could assume any player you buy in TH is region-free. Is this accurate? I could import from abroad if need be but could wind up being more expensive and could get caught up in customs. Anyone knowledgeable on this topic?

Thanks

I was referring to this reddit thread re: the post saying that players in Thailand are generally region free, but that must be wrong:

Check with Piyanas or try Fortune Town mall.  I too would like a region free player but as you say, it would get expensive and there really aren’t enough discs to make it worthwhile.

and if the guy from the reddit thread thinks ฿8000 is “stupid expensive”...well...I’d already own one if I could get one so cheap.

No, you can’t assume that’s accurate. At least, the older LG Blu-Ray player I bought in Thailand is not region free. I believe Thailand is in the same region as North America though, so most movies would be covered.
