TextEdit Keeps Quitting in Mojave

After installing Mojave (Mac OS 10.14), if I close all TextEdit windows, the app quits. Anyone know what the problem is?

I tried deleting /Users/[username]/Library/Preferences/com.apple.TextEdit.plist but made no difference. Thx.

That sounds like normal behaviour, apple is moving towards the windows way of doing things where closing the last open window  tells the program to quit.
