Very common scenario. Inexperienced driver in a shiny new vehicle full of her rowdy teenage friends wants to show off and/or is distracted whilst driving. Result = bad crash.

Not sure if there were 3 pickups and two cars or if the two cars were actually pickups  - no worry though, a bit of cutting and welding, some body filler and back on the road next week!

Why not show the vehicle the story is about, not just the old banger that copped up the date.

Doing it this way gives TVFers more to bitch about. Excellent click-bait value. Must be learning from MSN.

You are forgetting that Thai's are so advanced that they already have their excuses geared up for the autonomous, self driving vehicles.

Gosh I hope to never see the day when autonomous, self-driving vehicles are on the roads, irrespective of whether we're talking about Thailand or any other country. They will destroy the careers of millions of bus and truck drivers with no guarantee that they'll be any safer, despite the promises made by those that promote them. Just look at the recent Tesla accidents.

Many Thais may suck at driving but automating the process isn't the answer. In all fairness, Thais drive better now than they did 10-20 years ago and in all of my half a million km or so driving around Thailand, I've never had any problems.
