Ripper first Q Swans V Hawthorn...

I changed my Tip to hawthorn half an hour before the game facepalm.gif

If Hawthorn had kicked straight they would be in front. Good comeback in 2nd quarter. Swans up by 13 points at halftime. I stayed with the Swans. I can only hope

That game got the heart going...Sydney lucky to win in many ways...but still a cracker of a game.

Too bad i changed my tip...ermm.gif

Oh you've got to have faith BM! Fourth Quarter Specialists this year our boys ;)

What a battle that was from the boys, vintage Goodes! He won't be playing in the NEAFL or wearing the green vest anytime soon... I also enjoyed the way Butterfingers played today, got up all around the ground, marked strongly - kicking was a bit awry but otherwise solid performance... Benny McGlynn was superb in his "Hayden Ballantyne" role tonight, caused Sam Mitchell no end of grief.

I'm also thankful that Denis and Bruce weren't calling tonight's game, my TV would have surely exploded if it was subjected to those two swooning over Breust and Cryil delicious Rioli, whom I've now dubbed a "protected species"...

The MRP will be busy on Monday after this game, expect a lot of fines, I think Lewis and Sam Mitchell might find themselves looking at a stint on the wood for various indiscretions, Lewis for instigating a number of fights (Benny McGlynn might find himself in a bit of trouble for this as well) in the first and Mitchell for an off the ball hit on Tommy Mitchell in the 3rd quarter.

Thought it was also pretty poor form of the Hawks supporters booing Goodesy...

Butterfingers Reid had a decent game alright. He is fitting into his new role well. Midfield, back, forward, the gangling giraffe loves it! Goodesy also had a decent game..bless the old fella and his tired leg. Jetta and Rohan continue to grow.

Sydney created enough pressure that hawthorn missed its easy set shots. The final minute hanneberry erred in not playing on to raft of Swans players on their own up forward. That almost backfired...

Not sure what the booing is all about. I mean I understood Franklin getting some Boos, but Goodesy?

Sydney was slammed in the clearances and inside 50s. A lot of improvement to go for the Sydney boys, in my opinion

Anyone catch the Freo v North game?

I can see from the scoreboard North were back to bad-North.

fyfe another 3 votes i hear?

I think it was more about Freo than North to be honest.

Freo at home has to be close to the hardest gig in footy at the minute.

I reckon if Fyfe did a Gary Ablett and stop playing now, he would have

enough votes to win the Brownlow.

Freo are probably 1 key forward short. If you can lock down on the big

pavlova, they rely on Ballantyne and Walters too much.

Then again, you'd take 8 zip ever day of the week.

With Port falling off the radar, there's a huge gape between Freo, Syd and hawthorn methinks.

Who will take the 4th spot I wonder?

I agree the Port / Richmond game could go either way. Advantage for Port is home game and return of Wines.

The other interesting game is Essendon and Brisbane. Brisbane have won their last 2 and have beaten Essendon before in 2013 when they were not expected to

Sunday is becoming the day of upsets.

They had a good game last week, dismantling Port.

I did,

Masterclass from freo, only good news for us is we have Wells,Del santo,Swallow,Brown,Grima and Turner to come back in to our best side.

We managed to shut Pav down but that only sparked Walters and Ballantyne into action. Also the way freo setup and rebound from deep in defence is exciting to watch.

North's season will be decided over the next month.(still cant work out why Scott is not throwing Hansen forward on ocassionsblink.png )

Good point. North are missing its best midfielders at the moment

I reckon Port will destroy Richmond.

I don't rate them at all and Port will come out snarling I'd imagine.

Done by some Lions but not scared of some Tigers? Do they fear the Cats?

Upsets on Sundays.

Melbourne beat Western Bulldogs by 39 points.

Halftime Richmond are leading Port by 23 points. Will this be another upset?

There will be no 9/9 this week. No one tipped Melbourne.

Port look fairly C.rap and can't kick straight..could well be

Richmond up by 13 points at 3/4 time. They did not score a point in that 1/4. Port only managed 10 points.

That was hard to watch. Port dominated that quarter..made some poor decisions coming into the 50 and beyond (15 times they went in for 1.4)

Port shot for the year?

I actually had to watch this several times just to see the "contact".

Then watched it a few more times as I couldn't really believe it.

An umpire trying to get his 2 minutes of fame methinks.

Minson 'umpire push' incident 'pretty laughable', says Beveridge

Does seem laughable looking a the vision. Your link didn't work for me for some reason.

Can Chimpy give us any clues to the margin this week.(swans v blues)biggrin.png

I'm glad you asked farmerjo.

I have handed over all tipping this week to Chimpy. I know the leading trio of CarnegieJoe, Will27 and ripstanley are feeling the weight of being ladder leaders/contenders and this week i need some bold and illogical decision making. Chimpy is the ape for the job

Chimpy has been busy the last two days. he flew down to Melbourne to see Mick Malthouse on Saturday and Buddy in Sydney on Sunday.

He tells me Mick confided in him that he is looking at greener pastures. Possibly Port Adelaide. They have some good young nonperforming players there and Mick says he is the one to clean them out and start afresh. Mick is also considering a return to West Coast, but only if he can bring Judd on a 5 year contract.

Catching up with Buddy on Sunday morning for a latte by the beach, he got a great selfie of himself on top of Buddy's shoulders. Wearing his St Kilda jumper he appears to be trying to rip off Buddy's ears, while laughing maniacally . Chimpy reckons Buddy had an off night on Saturday because he and the GF have been having a rough trot and Buddy's mind is not on the game

Chimpy is saying Swans by 68 points. Buddy to kick 5

Yeah it was pretty laughable - BUT - those are the rules, looks like the ump had been taking tips from Lindsay Thomas the way he was flaying about. Minson's actions are pretty intentional even if there's no malice involved. Not that I'm a fan of Minson so it won't bother me either way what happens but probably a fine of some sort...

A red card for that is absurd.

Minson shouldn't be touching the umps, but the ump was just being an over officious jerk IMO.
