Why farangs dont fit into thailand

Featured Replies

  • Popular Post

We dont fit in for many reasons....

I see alot of farangs turn to WIFI addiction, alcoholism and excess vice.

Are we all wanting to come to a place that does infact no want or need us ?

Im quite sure if we were truly welcome we could start doing menial jobs and get long term visas like in cambodia....

Instead  farangs are all in some Temporary limbo of nothingness unable to participate or contribute to the society.

Only to spend and then move on, In that case,  is that what Thais really want......For farang to spend his money then move on??

Dear Pattayabeerbacon,

Surprising as it may seem there is more to life in Thailand than Pattaya, beer and bacon.

Feel for you beer and bacon. You have not ever even been to the real Thailand. You have always resided in Whoreland and therefore are confused and confounded..

Wise words

This being said, even if we were back home (and over 50) life wouldn't be any kinder.

At east here, I will never see winter again????...and plenty of other extras.

A mans job makes him ,  Here i am unable to work because i never went to uni and have no bachelors degree which is the minimum for teaching positions here in LoS.

Now i just hanging around Battling my alcoholism and trying to get my mind strong.

Working and upgrading my skills in the west seems appealing as ever but i will also risk being lonely long term if i do return to australia for that.

Isnt it better to be 'lonely' in your home environment, rather than a foreign?

When I first came to Thailand they both wanted and needed me and even gave me a medal.  ????  Badge actually but I thought the non military types might understand medal better.

What is that medal for?

Badge actually.  I don't want to toot my own horn any more than I already have.  Nothing to do with being Rambo.  More like being a truck driver whose truck went woppa woppa woppa.

Why do you want to include all farangs in your concocted little victimhood?  It is YOU who apparently doesn't fit anywhere.  My condolences.

I don't fit the shirts, nor particularly into the community. The latter concerns me little, as I have rarely been a comfortable fit anywhere else, and I'm long past seeking approval from inconsequential judges.

I have no interest in gaining permission to perform menial jobs here, I did plenty of them in my early days. I'm well aware of my status here being  akin to that of an ATM, and revel in it rather than revile it. An average income at home makes me a rich man here and buys almost anything I require these days.

I do have a WIFI addiction (I'm currently watching the AFL on my new 55inch screen). Unfortunately my days of alcoholism and excess vice are now just part of memory.

I've participated and contributed to my home society way above the average and received little recognition for my troubles. I have no interest in trying to do so in Thailand, beyond looking after my adopted family.

Thailand suits me fine because I have more than enough to fit in, to my satisfaction.

The yearly visa extension drama is just an annoyance, not a game changer.

I fit in just fine, thank you.

I've never fit it. i think that is one of the reasons I love it so much. ????

I have outgrown medium when I went ado.

Here, I have to find XXL or XL on international standards (jerseys are).

Back at home, still wearing my old L sized shirts.

Count yourself lucky
I need xxl and tesco lotus doesnt stock that size anymore! [emoji846]
