Hi all.

I just put YSS G-Wave gas shocks on my Wave 125i. I loved the improvement. It wasn't until after they were installed that I found that the chainguard wouldn't fit due to the size of the springs. I know that the chainguard is a fairly trivial thing but I prefer it since it keeps the chain a bit cleaner and keeps the bike a bit cleaner as well.

The question I have is does anyone know - preferably from personal experience - if any of the YSS gas shocks will work on a 125i Wave and still have enough clearance for the chianguard? I have searched the YSS site and did a large Google search but no luck finding an answer.

Any help appreciated.

You could cut a piece out of the chain guard and repaint with silver spray but even then you will most likely need to pull the shock off its bottom mount to get the guard on.  I am refurbishing a 125 wave and plan to do the same.

PS

Example of guard on Wave that was once fitted with big shocks
