‘Commercial non-viability’ is the official reason given for the pulling of the twice-weekly non-stop flights between Bengaluru, India and Phuket by IndiGo Airline. The airline’s six weekly non-stop flights between Delhi and Phuket will continue.

“Phuket is a key market for IndiGo and we see great potential in the growth of tourism between India and Phuket. We will explore various alternative routes which will enable us to optimally utilise our fleet”.

Phuket not that popular then?

It certainly was on Saturday night when I was out, because I've never seen so many Indians in the place, and I said that to my bar owner friend, and he said you should wait until after 12 o'clock when they seem to come out in groups, holding hands and pestering girls for cheap "favours"!

It wouldn't bother me if they cancelled all the cheap flights from India!

A few more road accidents involving Indian tourists and the airline might pull all flights!
