Drunk man arrested after collecting parking fees in Phuket Town

Police have arrested an intoxicated man who was collecting parking fees around a department store in Phuket Town.

 

The Phuket City Police arrested the man, Adisak Rueathong, who had been collecting parking fees around Robinson Ocean Department Store in Talad Yai, Phuket Town.

 

The arrest follows police receiving complaints last week that there was a drunk man stopping cars and telling them to pay a parking fee for the Robinson Ocean Department Store.

The man is only showing initiative and is simply following the long tradition of the RTP who collect parking fees for those who inhabit pavements and other public places.

He needs to be dealt with severely to prevent any expansion into territories controlled by the police.

Sitting in his villa somewhere on the coast of Spain, is a bloke who had been taking the parking lot fees, estimated at 400 pounds (about $560) per day at Bristol Zoo for the last 25 years. Assuming 7 days a week, this amounts to just over 3.6 million pounds ($7 million).
And no one even knows his name.

I saw your story on UK television. Myth indeed. Apparently there was a guy near where we lived who at Christmas time used to put a table and a sign outside one of the national forests selling cut your own Christmas trees.

You mean that it was not true. Next you will tell me Santa Clause does not live at the North Pole.

It's actually the basis for a real life scam, as shown in the video below. The people running the scam only stick around for an hour or two, though, rather than 25 years.
