More than 4DX! Pipe bursts at Ratchaburi cinema during Avengers' screening

Cascades of water rained down on cinema goers at a screening of the blockbuster movie Avengers: Endgame.

But it was not 4DX effects. It was a burst pipe at the cinema in Ban Pong, Ratchaburi.

The lunchtime screening had to be abandoned as seats were flooded in the theater deluge.

Vittawat Harnvanich posted on Facebook that there was just one more hour left of the movie when the water started coming down. At first he thought it was a special effect.

A video showed the water gushing down and patrons taking cover.

People were offered free tickets for the next sitting but many were disgruntled that their viewing had been spoiled by the interruption, reported Sanook.

Sanook said that many people online joked that it was more than 4DX - a movie experience that features motion sensors, scents and water droplets.

Avengers: Endgame took in more than $1 billion in its first five days internationally, a world record.

I bet that put a damper on the evening.
