Very sad. RIP.

The motorbike suddenly changed lanes and came in front of me from the left to make a U-turn and we collided,”

I experience similar events almost everyday, motorbikes makes sudden unexpected moves. A miracle there aren't even more accidents here.

The small problem is, it's only the van driver's word and he can say what he wants. I could observe that the motorbike doesn't seem to have much damage on its right side, where it should have been hitby the van. It might be true, or maybe the van tried to pass too close to the motorbike on a narrow road (a guy tried that on me just 30 min ago, luckily I could accelerate and lose him).

You are right that motorbikes often make unexpected moves, and at the same time  car drivers often behave like the motorbikes do not exist.

These mini van drivers and green plate cars, drive like maniacs on Phuket every day. My dash cam records their culling process every day.

It will be better news when police get off their fat rear ends and drive around doing visible policing on the roads.

Road blocks do nothing to stem the death toll on the roads.
