He has during his term in office provided  stability to Thailand .

The Thai economy is strong along with the Thai baht.

There the highest level of household debt for decades. Any stability is a result of suppression and repression. The baht is too strong.

Only good thing i see here is that if the junta want the Bumjai party that maybe they demand that the marijuana legalisation goes through for the rest its bad news.  The smaller parties have some power now.

But most are just bought by the junta (made a better offer as the PTP). That is how things go in coalition governments.

Still the EC stinks with the new seat allocation.

Comes as a shock, but where are the official results? Today is 9th May?!

Why ? surely this was the expected outcome. They may have a minority in the house but they have a majority on the barrack square.

To summarize and add to my previous post, and points, in a more concise fashion:

1. They will continue to issue proclamations, declarations and crackdowns based on nothing but false puritanism, containing no substance whatsoever.

2. They will not focus any effort on traffic or public safety, because they do not care about the people, nor are they interested in reforming the RTP or the Highway Patrol, which is urgently needed, but never discussed.

3. They are only here to protect the elite, those in power, the police, the super wealthy, and those that are connected.

4. They will not be able to improve the economy as they only hire based on cronyism, and merit is never a consideration, so they are not able to attract real talent, nor do they seem to want to.

5. The tourism sector will continue to suffer, as they will focus only on China and India, leaving out higher quality Western tourism.

6. Nothing will be done to reform the outdated and onerous import duty system, and in not doing so, they will continue to discourage high end tourists, who want to spend alot of money on luxury goods while traveling, but do not do so here, as they are smart, conscious of value, and want a fair deal on a purse that costs 550,000 baht here, but 215,000 baht in Singapore, Hong Kong, Miami, NY, London, and Dubai.

6. No doubt the ex-pats will suffer too, as this group is racist, xenophobic, and full of fear of the outside world.

7. Lastly, the nation will not progress. In general Thailand is not a progressive nation. But, the army is probably the least progressive institution within the nation. So, no progress on the multitude of pressing issues the nation faces today. The environment, water quality, alternative forms of energy, recycling programs that work, etc, etc, etc. Barely anything will move forward, in a meaningful way.

To label this result as a tragedy for the nation, would be a huge understatement. The army are small minded, insular men, and know little about anything. This army is moving the nation backwards at a pace that is astonishing.

maybe good for the exchange rates though

A bit off topic, But now that he has been truly and fairly elected (sarc,) i wonder if he will/can keep his complete blanket amnesty protection in place, now he's a proper PM obviously he will have art.44 (or whatever it is) to fire off at anything he does'nt agree with, but what with the amnesty?

Please use discretion in your references to the government. Phrases which can be considered as anti-coup will be removed. Referring to Thailand or the government as a dictatorship, military dictatorship or other such terms will be removed:

If I passed wind in a crowded lift then, as people were choking , got out some air freshener and sprayed it everywhere, when the lift got to the ground floor and the doors opened would everyone in the lift think I was a great guy for saving them from choking ?

You seem to think they should.
