I get this pop-up every time I start IE 11. This started happening 3-4 days ago. I didn't do anything outside the normal before it happened. Since, I have run CCleaner and SuperAntiSpy, but it continues to happen. Any ideas? Thanks in advance computer wizards.

The drop-down is a language selector, choose English and click the button.

Hopefully it will remember and not bug you again.

It may have done an update or forgotten your preferences.

Microsoft Internet Explorer was sent to the technology retirement home in 2015, but four years later, the company’s cybersecurity specialist is warning diehard fans that it really is time to switch to a new browser.

CCleaner has been a mainstay for protecting Windows computers for many years. It was created at a time when Microsoft Windows lacked many built-in protections and features, so CCleaner filled those gaps.

Today, those gaps are gone, and many people who install CCleaner could be doing their computer more harm than good.

@ Crossy….I should have mentioned I have chosen the language dozens of times but the pop up continues. Thanks

@55Jay...You are probably right. I have MS Edge and Chrome on my system. It's one of those "I've always used it" moments.

I resemble that remark!  I clung to my comfortable old shoe Windows 7, avoided all that Win8 stuff, then finally relented and went onto Win10.

The thought occurred to me that CCleaner "might" be a potential source of your problem given the mission statement on the label.   Also wondered if your Windows isn't genuine, perhaps installed with all sorts of bloat/malware from a well intentioned Thai computer shop.

@ Isaanbiker I'll give that a go. Thanks

@ 55Jay You are correct about CCleaner. After using it, the "Welcome" screen appears once, it was only recent it kept appearing.

Funny you mention Thai computer shop. When I bought the PC it was advertised coming with Windows 10 (this was at a shop in Central Nahkon Si Thammarat), the price seemed to good to be true and I was prepared to purchase a clean copy of W10. Sure enough the shop guy started opening the box preparing the pirate copy, but I stopped him. I purchased a clean copy direct from MS.

Thanks for your input
